Soul veteran Luther Vandross leads the list of contenders for the 18th annual Soul Train Music Awards.

The singer, who is recovering from having a stroke last year, has three nominations including best R&B/soul single, male and R&B/soul or rap album of the year.

Beyonce, who recently took home five Grammy Awards for her solo debut album ‘Dangerously in Love,’ is nominated for best R&B/soul album, female and R&B/soul or rap album of the year. Her hit “Crazy in Love” featuring her alleged boyfriend Jay-Z is up for best R&B/soul single, female and its video is among the nominees for the Michael Jackson award for best R&B/soul or rap music video.

Alicia Keys and Kenneth ‘Babyface’ Edmonds will co-host the two-hour event, which will feature appearances by Knowles, Janet Jackson and Outkast, among others.

The ceremony will take place on March 20 at the International Cultural Center in Los Angeles.
